DUF needs youth referees for home games, primarily during the Spring season. In addition, referees who become certified through USSoccer can referee outside of Viroqua for other clubs and at area tournaments from late March through early November.

Wisref.org is responsible for training referees in the state of Wisconsin on behalf of USSoccer.

Referees who are certified by wisref.org:

• Must be 13 years of age
• Pay $70 and complete 12 hours of coursework, four of which are in-person
• Are certified to referee all youth soccer games in Viroqua, and outside of Viroqua. (Note: Youth referees must be older than the players they are refereeing)

For Spring Season Tri-Rivers League games in Viroqua, certification is NOT a requirement, however there is no opportunity to referee outside the spring Tri-Rivers League.

There is a four-hour in-person class requirement for new referees, but no in-person requirement for recertification. Class locations will be added throughout the winter.

All new DUF youth referees, both certified or uncertified, have an on-site mentor at games to provide training and to manage coaches and spectators.
